Reid, who taught himself the bass as an Air Force musician before stints in Japan and Chicago, spent nearly five years touring with Dexter Gordon and has performed alongside Thad Jones, Elvin Jones, and J.J. Johnson. Ingram, raised in Laguna Beach and mentored by drummer Joe La Barbera, releases his new trio album Sound Within on July 10 on Chill Tone Records, featuring Reid and La Barbera and inspired by the music of Bill Evans.
