Jazz has never been music for the elite. It is an elite sound that welcomes everyone into it's universe......and we welcome you to explore it with us on Jazz on the Rocks with a Twist of Soul.

This episode of Jazz on the Rocks celebrates the brute strength of Jazz. From it's development in the early 20th century in New Orleans where the city's population was more diverse than anywhere else in the South, and people of African, French, Caribbean, Italian, German, Mexican, and American Indian, as well as English, descent interacted with one another. African-American musical traditions mixed with others and gradually jazz emerged from a blend of ragtime, marches, blues, and other kinds of music. At first jazz was mostly for dancing. Jazz continues to be a viable genre today influencing everything from Rock to Hip-Hop.
This episode explores the intense measurement of Jazz. The wide range and extent of the Soul of the music will be tested and proven within the thick textures of every note. Let's have some fun and sip on a little Jazz on the Rocks with a Twist of Soul.
This is the maiden voyage of Jazz on the Rocks with a Twist of Soul. You can expect a smooth blend of instrumental Jazz and Soulful vocals, creating a unique and satisfying musical cocktail hosted by 30 year radio veteran Ken James.
