Ross Sutter sings and plays songs representing a variety of European cultures. But like most artists, Covid nearly ended all of his work. But Ross adjusted to the situation. A big help for him has been workshops for artists led by arts professional Jeri Goldstein.

Lila Ammons. Hers is a prominent jazz family. Her grandfather, Albert, was a noted boogie woogie piano player, and her uncle was sax man Gene Ammons. But it hasn’t been jazz all the way with Lila, whose parents listened to a lot of symphonic music and opera.

Charlotte Matis operates Blackbirds, a music store specializing in strings, at 3445 Cedar Avenue South in Minneapolis. The pandemic of course has changed the way the store does business, especially the business of giving lessons on multiple instruments. Charlotte gives violin lessons, which are now conducted over the internet.
