Stand Up welcomes back JB Hixson to talk about faith and the free exercise thereof. What begins as that which saves us opens a door to a brand new life as a new creation. As we begin this life, what is important? Faith comes by hearing so that systematic study of the Scriptures must undergird all we do as our hearts and minds are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, the same power that rose our Saviour from the grave. Walking by faith then is the workout of our lives! What does that look like? Of course, God has a different path for each of us and no one can walk that walk for us. But God’s word applies to ALL of us! What a glorious operating manual for all things pertaining to life and godliness. All means all here, we can assume that. So as we move forward, what are some of the things that might challenge our faith, make it like gold tried in the furnace? When things don’t make sense, when our prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling, when people hurt us or betray us or when tragedy strikes, what is our response? Does the response change from year to year as we move forward in Christ? Growing beyond our circumstances prepares us for eternity. Life is hard and full of challenges but faith, along with hope and love, remain. An encouraging hour with Pastor JB.
