Jeremiah 29:1-14

There is a way in which we can take for granted the Grace of God in our lives. This story of the healing of ten men reminds us that we are called to the spiritual discipline of thanksgiving and testimony.

Pastor Sam talks about the growing trend in current politics to involve Christian faith as a platform for justifying a political platform. Now more than ever, we must be vigilant and humble in listening to the Word and asking the Spirit to lead us in the way of God's kingdom.

Mark 4:35-41

We are in a time of unprecedented crisis. We can often fall into the lie that God is asleep and disinterested. We mistake God’s faithful steadiness as inaction and we don’t realize that even the greatest storm cannot have greater power over God’s Grace. Our creator God is here to calm the waves.

We interview Jessica Valdez who works at the Seattle non-profit Asian Counseling and Referral Services (ACRS) and volunteers as the chair of our Outreach Committee at JBC. We discuss her background and the unique challenges of helping the underserved in the Asian Pacific Islander communities.

The story of Jesus and the children is a challenge to us as Christians to think of the way that we set up obstacles for people to come to Christ. In fact, the very people that we hinder coming close to Christ are the very ones that Jesus is most interested in!
