We are super excited to follow up our Shadow Boxers series with Dushi. No stranger to JDNB, having passed through with an insightful interview in times gone by, we are stoked to welcome her back on our brand new platform.

Born and raised in the lively London's Brixton, Dushi is a producer and DJ indebted to a life spent raving. A child of the legendary DnB and free party scene that filled clubs and warehouses in the capital, Dushi has carried that unique energy through to her own productions. With her unique blend of melodic soulful sounds, coupled with a love for a dirty bassline the open-minded spirit of rave is at the heart of both her productions and fluid, club-ready DJ sets.

Dushi’s release schedule has been bolstered by wide support from a broad range of DJs, including plays on Capital, Kiss 100, Radio 1 and 1xtra from tastemakers such as Fabio and Grooverider, Friction, Bailey, Dj Hazard, Hype, Dj SS and Rene Le Vice. A lifelong devotee to radio, she has also recorded guest mixes for Marcus Nasty on Rinse FM, Clayton's Renegade Hardware on Reprezent, Capital FM and the Rework podcast series.

With a number of exciting new releases on the horizon, forging a link between DnB’s storied past and it’s open-minded future, wherever Dushi goes, it’s in her own words “peace, love and frequencies…”

Releases on Technique Recordings, Worldwide Audio, Allsorts Recordings, Grid Recordings, Radius Recordings, Formation Records, Soulvent Records, Urban Wildlife and more.

We are honoured, proud and excited to open our parallel mix series 'Heavyweight Boxers' with the one they call Addiction, who has provided a 30 minute selection of pure bliss.

As part of the renowned duo, Carlito & Addiction were at the forefront of the original Drum and Bass movement with Addiction having residencies at two of London`s premier club nights, Speed (later Swerve) and Movement.

When not out on the road, they were in the studio producing some the most prolific music in the golden era of DnB. Together they put out material such as “Supergrass” on Defunked Records and “Just Wanna Be” for Fabio`s Creative Source. Individually, Addiction released tunes like “Bodyswerve” and “Tijuana” for Moving Shadow.

The duo played a vital role in shaping the more musical side of Drum and Bass and are frequently referenced as a source of inspiration by emerging talent.

They’re now back in the studio working on new music and there’s an album in mind along with some hard hitting singles, as well as recent releases on Innerground, V & Liquid V, with Addiction providing a beautifully fresh techy cut in collaboration with Villem on new imprint MURKT.

Enter the brand new mix series at JDNB… ‘Shadow Boxers.’ A monthly guest mix, putting the spotlight on the finest selectors and producers this scene has to offer, invited to flex their sound for a cool 45 minutes.

We’re psyched to open this series with the raw sounds of Tuskan [AFT/Dread].

Tuskan, is a South-West UK based Producer and DJ, making and playing jungle drum & bass.

Inspired by the recordings he made from One in Jungle on Radio One in the early Nineties, he is a first generation junglist, taking in the whole spectrum and history of the genre, with all it’s influences, whilst remaining upfront as the genre expands and evolves.

Tuskan has been stepping things up in 2019, building a studio, and crafting his own sound, bringing the best of analogue hardware and digital together. Recent tuition from Goldie’s long time engineer and collaborator, Heist, has helped bring his sound from a self taught bedroom producer into the realms where he has seen releases on some of the scenes die hard labels like Ray Keith’s Dread Recordings and support from the likes of Bladerunner, Serial Killaz and Rebel Mc AKA Congo Natty.

Recent signings to Bristol based AFT Records, co-owned by one of the scenes top MCs, Carasel, has seen Tuskan’s first Solo EP ‘the Bricks’ released in October this year. With the EP being played on the BBC and gaining respect from legends like Nicky Blackmarket and Ed Solo, has set the pace for a slew of forthcoming releases on the AFT Label in 2020. All this, plus a long time coming collaboration with the vocalist J-Man, taking a huge influence from dancehall, which has be picked up by Heist for his Co-Lab imprint, along side a remix from the label boss himself! 2020 is looking strong for this jungle warrior.
