Jeanine and Tobias talk about possible futures and changes within our working life.  What do employees feel, when they perform tasks that might not be necessary in the future? How will the digitalization impact our working life? And what about the idea of an universal basic income? 

In this episode, Jeanine and Tobias introduce non-violent communication and discuss how it can be applied in various contexts.  Non-violent communication isn't just about speaking with your inside voice, but rather showing compassion for the person you're speaking with.  Jeanine also talks about how she came across the topic and why it's so important to her.  At the end of the episode, Tobias takes an online quiz to determine what his love languages are.  Extending beyond regional dialects, love languages are the methods though which we best communicate our feelings.

#NoNewFriends is the trending topic that was inspired by the song of the same name by DJ Khaled (ft. Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil Wayne).  Tobias and Jeanine discuss what the concept means in the online world and in their own personal lives.  What's your take on the topic?

Jeanine and Tobias discuss the film Ad Astra (2019), directed by James Gray and stars Brad Pitt.  How does it relate to other popular space adventure movies, such as 2001: A Space Odessy (1968) or Interstellar (2014)? What does the movie mean, and what are some details (intentional or not) that Jeanine and Tobias caught while watching the film?

What originally started as a "casual conversation" turned into an intense discussion on Flanders and its political climate.  In this episode, Jeanine and Tobias are joined by Séline from Belgium.  She talks about her life growing up in Belgium and how her identity in relation to Flanders has changed over time.

Jeanine and Tobias went on a 16-day trip to Canada to visit Jeanine's home city of Edmonton and the surrounding area.

In this episode, Jeanine and Tobias sit down with Jeanine's brothers, Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel.  They discuss skills valuable skills when travelling (like haggling), what they each do for a living, and what brought them to pursue these careers.  (Side note: Michael wanted to correct himself.  He said "lama" but he was actually talking about alpacas)

Jeanine and Tobias are joined by their friend Ilya Sklyar, who shares stories of his family's experience in Soviet Russia and how its history has molded Russia into the country it is today. Learn about how Ilya's late grandfather encountered atomic submarines in his work as a military officer. Ilya discusses works of art, like the movie Brat ("Brother", in English) from 1997, as well as Russia's finely crafted language of profanities.  And yes, Tobias and Ilya did indeed high-five over a book.
