Patience can be developed through hard times, hard tests and hard trials.  Most of us do not welcome it.  Sometimes waiting can be a difficult task. But when we stand still, we will see the salvation of the Lord.  Destiny can be determined through our patience.  Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ told us in Luke 21:19, "In your patience possess ye your souls."
