The fact is there is pay inequity in the blogging world where brands, the PR and Marketing companies that represent them generally, pay black and brown bloggers much less money compared to a White blogger with similar traffic or reach.
It's akin to the advertising in radio industry which had an unspoken rule called "no urban dictate" indicating to ad buyers to NOT place their product in urban radio because they do not either 1)want their brands to be associated with urban culture; or 2) don't think the black audience has buying power and/or can afford their product; or 3) they do not think their target market can relate to a black blogger or influencer; or 4) they do not want a black or brown person representing their brand.
