This morning we wrap up our Galatians study with a big overview. Something from each chapter to help us remember the theme of Galatians - Gospel Freedom. From the greeting in chapter 1 to the close of chapter 6, this book is about the Gospel and God's grace. Receiving, retaining, and representing the Gospel is our main purpose.

Galatians 6:11-17; Philippians 3:1-14

Law or Suffering - the Law will never produce the fullness offers in being a new creation in Christ. 

Cross & New Creation - boast only in the cross. First the cross then the glory. First suffering, then life. Distinctions between Jew and Greek no longer matter because of the cross work of Jesus. Yes, the distinctions are still there, but they not longer matter.

Results & Representing - peace will be upon them. Paul longs for Israel to understand, to see Jesus as He really is, and to understand the Gospel. 

Enjoy the grace of God and represent all that it means.

Receive & Reciprocate - give back to those who teach you (Hebrews 13:7-8, 17)

Sowing & Reaping - what you sow, you receive. Plant corn and you get corn. Plant the flesh, and you get the flesh. Plant a Spirit filled life, receive a Spirit filled life

Endurance & Reward - in due season we will reap. Waiting reveals our heart. Wait for the reward (harvest). 

Do good to all people especially those who belong to the family of believers.

Galatians 6:1-5; Romans 5:1-17

People are messy. Believers too. 

Bearing others' burdens helps us see our own burden and our need for help from God and others. Ask yourself. Am I putting in the minimum effort and letting others take up the slack in caring for myself and others? Am I willing to help bear the collective burdens of others? 

By growing in endurance and growing up spiritually, we are better able to bear our own burdens and help others. We are built with the need for community.

Each fruit of the flesh (or works of the flesh) listed in Galatians 5 are good things turned bad. That happens when they are twisted and shaped around our own image rather than the way God intended in the first place.
