When life gets chaotic, our initial reaction is to worry because our sense of control is gone. We often worry in pursuit of making things work out in our own strength and ability. This week, Pastor Jeremy Johnson encourages us to kiss worry goodbye by putting our trust in the Lord.

Worry is a habit that God knows we easily struggle with. That's why He commands us in His word: "don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything." While stressing over the matters at hand seems instinctive, we can submit to His ways because anything God commands us to do, He gives us the power to do. In this surrender, He grants us His peace in the process.

When we learn to pray to God first before bowing to our anxieties, peace comes upon us and worry dissipates. As children of God, we can trust that God will provide for us. Just as He cares for the animals of the earth, how much more will he take care of us as His heirs?
