In this sermon, we were shown that God disciplines His people for their sin and rebellion. Specifically, we saw the painful consequences of Jerusalem’s sin, the utter seriousness of her guilt, and her msot honest cries of lament before the Lord. This passage, at the end of the day, reminds us that God allows us to feel the weight of our sin so that we may return to Him in genuine repentance.“The Lord is in the right, for I have rebelled against his word; but hear, all you peoples, and see my suffering; my young women and my young men have gone into captivity."
