As humans, we tend to be careful who we associate with or are seen with, which can be a good or bad thing. What shocked Jewish leadership, however, was when they saw Jesus openly and willingly hanging out with a rough crowd! Yet Jesus uses this as a tremendous teaching moment in Mark 2:13–17. We'll learn that Jesus came to call sinners, came to sit with sinners, and came to heal sinners.
