You’ve probably come across people who take advantage of the generosity of others. And this may have made you unsure of what to do when people ask for help. Today, Pastor Daniel cautions you to protect your heart from getting jaded or calloused by those who exploit that giving spirit. God’s design is that everyone would be provided for as we help one another. He wants us to lovingly look out for each other and help as needs arise.

We live in a culture saturated by self-focus. It’s all about doing what benefits you and makes you happy. However, today Pastor Daniel explains that God says living focused on self will never make you truly happy. You’ll discover you’ll be happiest when you shift your attention from yourself onto the Lord and others. True joy is found in living a God and others-centered life. Expectations are tricky things. They can do lots of damage, especially if those expectations aren’t met. God wants you to be salt and light in the world, to stand out as you live differently in this broken and hurting place.

But, today, Pastor Daniel shares that when you begin a relationship with Jesus, you become part of His family. But, unlike human parents, God loves you with an unconditional, perfect love. You’re His special kid and He’ll help you in every area of your life. Because you’re His child, you have a unique relationship with Him that changes you from the inside out.

In architecture, the cornerstone is the first stone laid. And it sets the guidelines for every stone that follows. Today, Pastor Daniel explains that Jesus is the cornerstone for your life, the most important thing. Everything else in your life is settled in relation to Jesus. So, when other people ask why your faith is such a big deal, you can tell them that without Jesus everything else falls apart. He’s your foundation, your starting point for the whole of your life.
