This is a Christmas Interview with Pastor Daniel Fusco and Josh Brown.

The gospel has a way of scandalizing people. Perhaps you have difficulty believing that sin is forgiven simply by believing in Jesus. Today, Pastor Daniel explains how the gospel is such a gift, as we hear about Moses being a mediator for the people. The children of Israel waited for Moses to deliver God’s commandments and promises to them. We, however, can go to the Father directly, thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

Some of the commands God gives His people are confusing to us today. “Do not boil an animal in its mother’s milk?” What does that mean? Today, Pastor Daniel will help us to understand God’s intention for the people as He gave them these laws. In this instance, the Lord was trying to keep His people from letting pagan practices creep into their lives. In that light, this law is very relevant today. Today, we’ll understand more about our Father’s will for us.

Taking time off work for vacation is restorative…and that’s exactly what Sabbath rest does for us as well. As Pastor Daniel explains today, we can be more fruitful when we are revitalized through resting in Him. In this part of Exodus, we hear about resting the land so it will rejuvenate…and the same is true for us. It can seem scary to walk by faith and know that God will provide…but we can trust in Him to care for us.

There are people in the world that you don’t like. If someone doesn’t agree with you, or annoys you, or even angers you, it’s natural to dislike them and avoid them. But, as Pastor Daniel teaches today, God wants us to do what comes UNnaturally. God wants us help others, to love others even when we dislike them. If it’s up to us, we won’t love those folks…but God wants to work out our issues so we can live a life we can’t live on our own.

As Pastor Daniel has been teaching through Exodus, about the laws God gave to the people, we have heard the specificity of God’s directions. If left to our own devices, people err on the side of selfishness. God’s ways are better. Today, we’ll hear a serious word about purity, and the demeaning attitudes about sex that are prevalent in our communities. We don’t know what the right way up is…so God has given us an excellent way.

Many conflicts are messy when it’s one person’s word against another’s. If someone is willing to lie, the problem worsens. As we’ll hear today, God’s solution to this problem as He presented the laws to His people, was to have the parties involved take an oath. As Pastor Daniel shares today, a healthy fear of God is a good thing. If you’re walking with the Lord, you shouldn’t be comfortable taking an oath and lying in front of your Heavenly Father.

Anger really messes up how we deal with things. We let our feelings get in the way of finding equitable solutions in the midst of conflict. Today, Pastor Daniel continues teaching about God’s laws. God’s heart was to provide His people with a more excellent way, and it still is. Although some of the laws may sound antiquated, we’ll hear how relatable they are for today. From animals to property, we’ll find God’s provision for us in everything.
