It’s hard to wait for God to help you out, especially when you don’t know what form that assistance will take. Pastor Daniel will show you how the children of Israel were in a pickle and needed God to save them. They were sure that they were going to die but God came through for them. We’ll hear Pastor Daniel talk about this event and help you understand a little more about God’s sovereignty and ability to pull you out of the fire.

In Hebrews eleven it’s said that faith is the substance of things not seen. We’re told to walk by faith and not by sight. The Hebrews who were traveling in the desert being led by Moses were continually tested by God to trust Him Who they couldn’t see rather than what their circumstances looked like. Pastor Daniel will teach about the reality that this is how God works with us – to get us to depend on Him more and more every day.

You’ve heard people talk about being a “good Christian” or a churchgoer. This is said with the intent of providing a status of being a religious or holy person. The Jews had their way of claiming a similar status. Pastor Daniel’s teaching will show how both of these viewpoints miss what God said and what He was trying to work in the lives of the Jews then and in Christians today. In both cases, God’s looking for a change of heart, not just a change of actions.

Several times in the confrontation between Pharaoh and Moses, Pharaoh asked Moses to pray for him or to bless him. Even when he was being the most stubborn and hard-hearted, part of him knew that Moses’ God was someone to seek blessings from. Pastor Daniel, in his teaching, will encourage you to become the kind of godly person that those who don’t agree with you about God will respect your God and ask you to pray for them when they’re in trouble.

The Jewish people have celebrated Passover for thousands of years. And even though the way society looks has changed, the observance of the Passover has remained constant. Pastor Daniel is going to be teaching how this constant reminder of what God did is important to keep the idea of God’s care of you in the front of your mind. You’ll find out ways you can establish the same kinds of remembrances in your community, too.

When the Jews were about to perform the first Passover, God told them to get all of the leaven out of their houses. The Bible tells us that leaven is a metaphor for sin. Pastor Daniel will be teaching about the importance of having God cleanse us of sin and asking other people to come beside us and help us in our walk. You’ll learn that having someone praying for you and answering to them about your sin is a way to stay on the straight and narrow.

Modern man has problems with belief systems that emphasize blood sacrifices. They think it’s inhumane and barbaric. The truth of the matter though is that they’re right. What they miss, and what Pastor Daniel will be teaching about, is that God’s holiness is so high, and man’s stain of sin is so bad that it requires something to die. You’re going to learn the principle of substitutionary redemption and its relationship to the Passover.

The early church was known for its outreach to those around them. Over time, it seems as though the Church has pulled inward and concentrated on being its own club. Meanwhile, the world around them has gotten worse, and trying all kinds of things in their pursuit of truth. Pastor Daniel will be teaching about the sacrifices that Jesus made to redeem the world and the responsibility the Church has to share that story with everyone.

People like to make out as though there’s some impersonal ‘force’ that made the universe. That’s very comforting because they then don’t have to worry about confronting a personal being. Using the Bible, Pastor Daniel will show you that God is very personal and that His intent and desire is to interact with you on a one-to-one basis. He began by showing the Hebrews what His plan was for them and eventually the whole world.

We humans signify special days and celebrate them: birthdays, wedding anniversaries, even remembering the day someone dies. God knows this – He made us this way – and so when it was time for the Israelites to get out of Egypt, He made sure they’d remember it.
