Texts: Isaiah 53:1-6; 1 Peter 2:24-25

Jesus Suffered as the Rejected Servant (Is. 53:1-3)

• Jesus came to earth in humility to a people that did not recognize or accept Him.
• Jesus' experience on earth was marked by grief and rejection.

Jesus Suffered as our Sin-Bearing Servant (Is. 53:4-6)

• Jesus entered into our sorrows and griefs by bearing the weight of our sin.
• Jesus' death led to our spiritual healing and our sins being forgiven.

Jesus Succeeded as our Victorious Savior (1 Peter 2:24-25)

• Jesus' death was effective to save us, empower us to die to sin, and live righteously.
• In Jesus, we have a Shepherd who loves and pursues us.
