Jesus returns home, and as is His habit, He went to the synagogue on the Sabbath. When He was handed the scroll of Isaiah, He stood, and He read from 61-1-2. After He finished reading, He sat down and explained that He was the fulfillment of the scripture that He just read. The promised Messiah, the Deliverer. Jesus has come for the spiritually bankrupt, for those who are captives to their sin, for those who see that they are blind, and for those who are oppressed.
