The first—essential—and elemental rhythm of renewal, that is built into creation is: Rest.
God created the world for 6 days, and rested on the 7th, and commanded his people to do the same. The regular rhythm of Sabbath was practiced by Jesus, though not in the legalistic way that Jews had adopted. How will our spiritual lives be sustained by following Jesus in taking God’s command to Rest, more seriously?
