Holy Week begins with the celebration of Palm Sunday. Over the course of this week- Jesus moved from being exalted as a hero to crucified as a criminal. In Acts 7, the first Christian martyr (Stephen) follows the same trajectory.

Stephen- a man full of God’s grace and power- is falsely accused by jealous Jews. Knowing his time is short, he delivers a message that invites his accusers to break their pattern of rejecting the truth.

The rapid growth of the early church led to growing pains that revealed the need for new solutions and new leaders.

The Disciples are freed from jail by an angel of the Lord for the purposes of the Lord, knowing their calling still risked persecution. Your freedom in Jesus contains purpose and carries risk. Will you take the risk to live your purpose?
