Did Joseph Have A Dream That His Brother Would Bow Down To Him?

Yes he did and you can find the answer in Genesis 37:1-11 (KJV)

Verse 1  And Jacob dwelt in the land wherein his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan.

Verse 2 These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.

Verse 3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.

Verse 4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

Verse 5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

Verse 6 And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:

Verse 7 For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.

Verse 8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.

Verse 9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

Verse 10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

Verse 11 And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

Should a Believer Tithe?

The question of whether a believer should tithe often sparks debate within the Christian community. While I believe that tithing is not mandated in the New Testament, the Scriptures present numerous examples of generous giving that should guide our actions.

The Heart of Giving

It’s essential to recognize that if a believer struggles with the concept of giving to the body of Christ, they may be resisting the principles found in God’s Word. Giving should stem from a heart of gratitude and a desire to support the Church, not out of obligation or fear. Believers are called to contribute not only financially but also through their gifts, talents, and time, all of which are valuable to the work of the Church.

The Problem of Misguided Leadership

Regrettably, some pastors and church leaders exploit this principle, pressuring their congregations to give money under the guise of spiritual obligation. I refer to such individuals as "Pastoral Pimps," as they mislead and take advantage of the body of Christ for personal gain. This behavior is contrary to the teachings of Jesus, who emphasized the importance of selflessness and service.

Selfless and Sacrificial Giving

True giving should be selfless and sacrificial, aimed at helping the Church fulfill its mission of spreading the Gospel. Believers must approach giving with the right attitudes and motives, understanding that it should never be transactional—giving to receive. God rewards devoted and obedient followers who exhibit the fruits of the Spirit rather than those driven by worldly desires.

Avoiding Manipulation

Believers should not treat God as a genie, expecting Him to fulfill every wish in exchange for monetary contributions. Instead, we should focus on the needs of genuine churches, both in America and abroad, that require support to share the Gospel and assist those in their communities. The love and obedience of Christ should be reflected in every believer’s actions, including how they give.

Conclusion

In conclusion, let us remember the words of 2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV): "Every man according as he purposethy in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." Our giving should be a joyous expression of our faith and commitment to Christ, rooted in love and the desire to make a positive impact in the world.

Will There Be Marriage In Heaven?

Matthew 22:23-33 NLT

Verse 23 The same day some people from the religious group who believe no one will be raised from the dead came to Jesus. They asked,

Verse 24 “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man should die without having children, then his brother must marry his wife. He should have children for his brother.’

Verse 25 There were seven brothers with us. The first was married but died before he had any children. The second brother then married the first brother’s wife.

Verse 26 The second brother died and the same with the third and on to the seventh.

Verse 27 Then the woman died also.

Verse 28 When people are raised from the dead, whose wife will she be of the seven? They all had her for a wife.”

Verse 29 Jesus said to them, “You are wrong because you do not know the Holy Writings or the power of God.

Verse 30 After people are raised from the dead, they do not marry. They are like the angels in heaven.

Verse 31 Have you not read what God said to you about those who are raised from the dead? He said,

Verse 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.’ He is not the God of the dead but of the living!”

Verse 33 When the people heard this, they were surprised and wondered about His teaching.

The answer is Yes, Jesus did say He was and is the Light of the World.

Now I will share John 8:12-20 KJV in which Jesus also mention, He is the Light of the World, plus he confronts and corrects the Pharisees on who He is and that the Father sent Him.

Jesus Declares Himself As The Light Of The World
