Of all the news to come out of Star Wars Celebration, nothing loomed larger than Dave Filoni's announcement that Grand Admiral Thrawn would be returning. Who is Thrawn and why is he so important to fans of the EU? In this episode, Cory and BK examine that question and analyze the trailer for Star Wars Rebels Season Three.

Ryan & Josh open the episode with a bit of confession within the Danktum Danktorum...then they dive deep into AMC's Preacher, based on the comic by Garth Ennis & Steve Dillon! The Boiz truly earn their "fake geek" status by relaying that they've never read it before...but they dig the show! They chat about the amazing action, bravura performance from Ruth Negga, and the deft adaptation from Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg. Then, Ryan launches into a Cassidy-level rage at a fellow Pod God and vows to punch him in the jorts, before Josh talks him off the new-media ledge. In this week's episode of Static Frequency, Cory and Brian soak themselves in the muck and mire of society to discuss the first three episodes of Charlie Brooker's popular science fiction anthology series, Black Mirror. Things get dense and philosophical as the British Prime Minister is asked to commit an unspeakable act, a man sacrifices everything he has to get a woman he barely knows onto a singing competition, and a couple's relationship disintegrates under the weight of their perfect memories. This is an intense one.
