Jilted Indian Pod

Guest host Shameela Keshavjee joins us for a discussion about the stigma of receiving help for mental health issues in brown communities. She also helps us understand how we may take better care of ourselves in times of high anxiety, as we continue to hear story after story of brown people being targeted in hate crimes.

Anju and Puja attempt to have an intellectual film conversation during a Skype happy hour. We discuss our mutual Bae Dev Patel, our love of Sunny Parwar, the movie "Lion," Nikole Kidman, what Dev's performance and this film mean for Brown representation, and rank it among our favorite "western" Brown films of all time.

Puja and Miranda, with drenched faces and shirt collars, cry their way through talking about the movie Lion, starring Dev Patel and the ADORABLE Sunny Pawar.

This episode was born while we were talking about ‘if we had known then what we know now…’ and Miranda suggested we actually talk about the different advice we wanted to receive when we were younger. The common theme among us?

We have an interview with a future world changer and we have it as a stand alone bonus clip because sometimes the words of the young are all the self-care you need.

The Jilted Indians participated in The Women's March in three different cities: Puja in Washington DC, Anju in Austin, TX, and Miranda in Dallas, TX. They decided to call eachother from their respective march cities and talk about what went down, how we move forward from here.

This episode was supposed to be about diversity in Hollywood, but things took a turn on Chinese New Year.

Meet Anju, Miranda, and Puja, the hosts of The Jilted Indian Podcast. We are thrilled to finally post our pilot episode! We wanted to introduce ourselves, and begin our quest to find out who among us is the shittiest Indian.
