Tim referenced Our Fake History Podcast. I listened to a few episodes that caught my attention, and I really enjoyed them. I'll probably listen to more of his episodes. I especially liked Ep #37- Did Robert Johnson Sell His Soul to the Devil.

Jimbo is joined by Professor of Philosophy Nate Sheff to discuss the self. The conversation assumes a physicalist worldview. We gloss over dualism, but we do not explain, defend, or debate its merit. Click here for a great visual to help grasp dualism vs physicalism.

I added a clip of Jordan Peterson making a correction of religion and addiction: Peterson is misleading and or mistaken. Spirituality is promising, but not proven. Below is a excerpt from "A focus-group study on spirituality and substance-abuse treatment:"
"Spirituality has been shown to be a significant and independent predictor of recovery and/or improvement in indices of treatment outcome. Levels of spirituality increase between treatment entry and subsequent recovery, and levels of spirituality may be greater in individuals whose recovery is successful compared to those who have relapsed. Length of sobriety has also been positively associated with spirituality, while commitment to a higher power may lessen the severity of relapse episodes. In retrospective studies, recovering addicts frequently reported spirituality as an important component of their recovery efforts and to be helpful in maintaining changes made during treatment. Additionally, spiritually oriented lay programs such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) are widely popular, especially in the United States, and although it has been notoriously diffcult to assess the effectiveness of such programs in their naturalistic incarnations, there is some evidence that they are effective."

There are some minor audio mistakes that cut the end of sentences off, but they shouldn't affect any comprehension.

Proverbs 13:24: Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.
The new proverb presented: "spoil your child, beat them with a stick." Spoiling children is bad hmm kay.

Chances are, most of what we create will barely be heard, read, and or remembered as time goes on. In a 100 years from now, we’ll be lucky if more than a handful of people even think about us. In 200 years, it’s almost certain that we will be entirely forgotten.
Why use our scare time and energy creating something that will be so easily forgotten? Why not spend that time somewhere else? Does creating something provides more growth and positives than negatives?
