那我可以帶朋友來家裡玩嗎?
對母親的稱呼，我們之前已經學過Mom和Mommy這兩種說法。至於Mother這種用法，則一點也沒有孩子氣。雖然叫父親的時候用Father，可是叫哥哥姊姊時，幾乎沒有人用 Brother 或Sister，而是直接叫名字。不過有時候，稱呼姊妹會用Sis(Sister的縮寫)。
go to work 從字面上就可以理解，是「去工作」、「上班」 的意思，be off也可以說成be free，是「在家休息」的意 思，這樣的假日，稱為a day off.
 
Today is my day off. (今天我休假。)
I'll take a day off tomorrow. (我明天不去上班。)
 
bring 和take 很容易混淆，要注意:
 
Take this paper to Dad. (拿這份報紙去給爸爸。)
Bring those flowers into the kitchen. (把那些花拿到廚房來。)
