I got what I prayed for… so why am I so tired?
After being quiet on the podcast for a long time, I’m finally coming back—and I want to tell you the truth about where I’ve been.
Between full-time work, caring for a multigenerational family, building my healing practice, and hosting events, this year has been beautifully full. My work is blooming, I feel seen, and I’m deeply grateful.
But around my 54th birthday, I found myself asking a different question:
Do I really need to keep trying so hard to hold everything together?
In this heart-to-heart episode, I’m sharing what I’m learning about letting go—not giving up, but releasing the need to force, control, carry, and do everything perfectly.
I haven’t mastered it. I’m still practicing.
So if you’re a woman who has spent years taking care of everyone, carrying responsibilities, and trying to keep everything together, come sit with me for a little while.
Maybe we can practice letting go together.
What are you ready to hold a little more gently?
Today’s episode is a special Mother’s Day offering for the women who have been carrying too much for too long.
If you’ve been feeling emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, constantly needed, or quietly running on empty… this guided meditation is for you.
Through gentle storytelling, breathwork, visualization, and nervous system calming, this meditation invites you to soften, release emotional heaviness, and reconnect with the part of yourself that deserves rest, care, and compassion too.
Whether you are a mother, daughter, caregiver, healer, or simply someone learning to stop carrying everything alone… may this meditation feel like a safe space to pause and come home to yourself again.
Find a quiet space, get comfortable, and allow yourself to fully receive this moment.
With love,
JJ

You look strong.
Capable.
Put together.
But lately… you’re tired in a way that sleep doesn’t fix.
In this episode, JJ explores the quiet exhaustion many high-achieving women over 40 experience — especially after emotionally loaded weekends like Valentine’s and Family Day.
You showed up.
You organized.
You carried the emotional tone of the room.
You made it meaningful for everyone else.
And somewhere underneath all that strength, your nervous system has been whispering:
“When do I get to soften?”
This conversation goes beyond burnout clichés.
We talk about over-functioning, emotional labor, identity shifts after 40, and why high performers often live in subtle survival mode without realizing it.
If you’ve been:
• Snapping more easily
• Sleeping lightly
• Feeling wired but tired
• Or wondering why love sometimes feels like pressure
This episode will help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface.
You’re not weak.
You’re not ungrateful.
You’re likely dysregulated.
And regulation — not doing more — may be the shift your body is asking for.
Take a breath.
This is your space to exhale.
Quietly Overwhelmed in January
January is supposed to feel like a fresh start.
New goals. New energy. A reset.
But for many of us, January arrives… heavy.
In this episode, JJ shares a gentle, honest reflection on what it’s like to step into a new year while still feeling tired, emotionally full, and quietly overwhelmed. She opens up about why she went quiet on her podcast last year, the guilt of not “doing it all,” and the relief of choosing one thing at a time.
This is a slow, grounding conversation about:
why January doesn’t magically erase burnout
letting go of perfection and allowing yourself to be human
choosing softness over pressure
and returning to yourself without forcing change
If you look fine on the outside but feel exhausted inside, this episode is for you.
At the end, JJ invites you to download a free gentle check-in checklist to help you pause and notice where you truly are — without fixing or pushing.

In today’s episode, I’m opening my heart and sharing a recent experience that I didn’t expect would affect me so deeply.
As many of you know, I’m someone who protects my energy. I rarely attend social or group events unless it feels truly aligned. I spend most of my time in my Zen healing space, guiding others, especially children with special needs, through mindfulness and energetic healing.
But something about this event — a sound bath and horse healing circle — called to me. I had never met Dana, the sound healer who hosted it, but I’d followed her quietly for some time and deeply respected her authenticity. And horses… have always held a special place in my heart. I’ve long felt a quiet connection to their spirit, strength, and sensitivity.
In this episode, I take you inside that evening:
– How everything from the wind to the birds moved in harmony
– The moment I raised my hands toward a horse’s forehead and felt a warmth that wasn’t just physical — it was soul-deep
– The magic of Dana’s voice during sound healing, and how her singing shifted the whole space
– Meeting Lynn Moseley, the owner of River Haven Farm, and feeling the powerful energy of a space built with intention and respect
I also share how this experience connected with the book I’ve been reading: Talk to the Animals by Gary Douglas and Dr. Dain Heer. As an Access Bars Facilitator, the quote that animals communicate through energy and receive without judgment deeply resonated with what I experienced that night.
This episode is for those of you who feel tired of surface-level “spirituality,” and are craving grounded, respectful, deeply real connection — with yourself, with others, and with nature.
Sometimes, even as healers, we forget how much we need to receive. This night reminded me. And I hope it touches you too.
Let me know what it brings up for you. Have you ever felt healing from an animal — or a place — without needing to explain a word?

I walked into a 4-day class I didn’t fully understand…
And walked out feeling lighter, freer, and more me than ever before.
In this episode, I’m sharing my raw and honest experience of taking the Access Consciousness Foundation Class with facilitator Cassy Summers — a class everyone told me would change my life… and it truly did.
From running Access Bars, practicing body processes, and learning to use the crazy-sounding (but powerful!) Clearing Statement — to witnessing real trauma relief and joy in the room — this class opened up new possibilities I never imagined.
If you’ve been craving more ease, clarity, and healing in your life...
If you’re curious about what Access Consciousness actually is...
Or if you're ready to experience a Bars session or even become a practitioner yourself...
This episode is for you.
Let’s explore the magic of unlearning, receiving, and saying YES to more.
What if you’re not broken? What if the stress, exhaustion, and emotional weight you carry aren’t signs of failure — but simply invitations for something different?
In this episode of JJ, with Mindfulness Talk – A Holistic Approach to Life, I open the space for something truly transformational: the Access Consciousness Foundation class.
I’ll share why I became an Access Bars facilitator, how this healing tool has changed my clients’ lives, and why I’m saying yes to a 4-day deep dive with one of the most magical facilitators I know — Cassy Summers.
Cassy joins us to share her personal story of burnout, awakening, and liberation — and how the Foundation class helped her unlock a life filled with ease, possibility, and magic.
✨ Ready to unlearn the limitations you’ve been taught and start creating from who you really are?
Come listen — and maybe say yes to a class that could change your life, too.

In this heartfelt episode, I share the story behind my upcoming Mother’s Day Sound Bath & Healing Circle — a special evening of sound, Access Bars healing, and even energy work offered by little guest healers. I also reflect on the recent tragedy in Vancouver and why May’s Mental Health Awareness Month feels especially personal this year. Plus, I share how I’m giving back with every healing session, and how you can join me — whether at Mandala Studio, online, or for your own private gathering. Let’s take a breath together… and come home to ourselves.

In this episode, I share a personal reflection that came to me over the Easter long weekend—on the word “Amen.”
Not just as the end of a prayer… but as a powerful affirmation:
“I do. I believe. I’m ready.”
If you’ve been feeling tired, overwhelmed, or quietly disconnected from yourself… this is your invitation to pause and ask:
What do I truly believe in now?
What version of me am I ready to say YES to?
We’ll explore what it means to commit to your healing and rest, especially as a woman over 40 carrying the invisible weight of “doing it all.”
I’ll also share a few gentle emotional tools you can use right now—breathwork, tapping, and grounding practices—to help you reconnect and feel supported.
And if you're in Vancouver, I’ll tell you about a healing space I’ve created just for you: my new Friday Night Sound Bath + Reiki Circle starting May 2rd.

Because maybe this is your moment to say: Amen… to yourself.
Family—our greatest source of love, but sometimes, our deepest source of stress. As we celebrate Family Day, it’s easy to get caught up in picture-perfect moments shared online. But behind every closed door, every family has its challenges.
In this episode of Mindfulness Talk – A Holistic Approach to Life, I ask a simple but powerful question: When you think about your family, are you holding onto love… or resentment?
Join me as I dive into the illusion of the "perfect" family, the emotional weight we carry, and how we can begin to let go of unspoken expectations, past hurts, and old resentments. We’ll explore mindful ways to shift our perspective, set boundaries, and cultivate healthier relationships—without waiting for others to change.
If this conversation resonates with you, take a moment to like, share, and follow this podcast. Let’s continue to build a mindful community together. And if you know someone who needs this reminder today, pass it along.
Listen in and let’s reflect together. 💙
