Mariko is one of my favorite people to have deep conversations with. She challenges me on my stance and has an ability to approach subjects from a different angle, which offers the beauty of new perspectives. Today we are talking about a few subjects that have been on my heart lately, the perception of a universal common sense and the inability to see that some truths exist to the individual, but maybe not the masses. Common sense can be based on your culture, the region your from or the household you were raised in. My goal is never to change your mind, but to show that there are different ways to approach situations.
A few years ago I was talking to my Dad, complaining that no-one in the new area of the world I moved to had any common sense. My Dad told me that my assumption of a combined common sense showed my lack of common sense. And so started my rumination of this topic.
