As more states legalize cannabis, the culture and conversation surrounding it are evolving. What was once considered illegal or taboo is now recognized for its medicinal benefits. But with this shift, it's important to reconsider the personal stories and emotions we associate with cannabis. That’s where today’s guests, Jared and Laurie, come in. They guide their clients in developing mindful and responsible rituals around cannabis use. In this episode, we’ll explore the supportive role cannabis can play, how to establish intentional consumption practices, and what it means to redefine your relationship with a substance once stigmatized as a drug. As the understanding of plant and energetic medicines grows, are you open to shifting your perspective on something you thought you had figured out? Here's a chance to explore that possibility.

Megan shares insights on how prenatal yoga can enhance the mind-body connection, making it easier to tune into your body’s needs and respond in kind. We delve into topics like the role of hot yoga during pregnancy, the impact of the hormone relaxin on the body, and how yoga teachers can better support pregnant students. In our healing journeys, there are countless paths we can explore. Personally, I've found great success with entheogens, so witnessing the growing acceptance of these medicines—both in society and as legitimate treatment options—feels like a dream becoming reality. Today, I'm joined by Jacob McEwen to discuss the Psychedelic Assisted Therapy training he recently completed. We dive into the distinctions between medicine and drugs, explore the various compounds and their applications, and emphasize the importance of respecting the medicines we choose to engage with. Additionally, we examine the potential challenges ahead as major pharmaceutical companies begin patenting naturally occurring medicines.

I'm excited to bring back a close brother who has been a big part of my healing journey, Cameron Nagashima. Today, we delved into the profound concepts of creating and holding safe spaces. With the diverse modalities we both practice and have experienced, we approach these essential aspects of the healing process in many ways. But what do "creating safe spaces" and "holding space" truly mean? We often talk about how we establish and maintain these spaces, but it ultimately boils down to a feeling. Do you feel secure and supported in the environment you're in, allowing you to engage in the deep work you need to do? True healing begins when this sense of safety is genuinely felt. Creating a safe space involves more than just physical surroundings; it encompasses emotional and psychological dimensions, where one can express themselves without fear or judgment. Holding space is about being present and offering unconditional support, ensuring that the person feels valued and heard. As we explore these concepts, Cameron and I reflect on our practices and experiences. We aim to foster environments where healing can flourish, grounded in the assurance that you are safe and held. It's within these nurturing spaces that the transformative journey of healing begins.

Today we take a journey of recovery and self-discovery with Zach Stone. Zach’s unique and compassionate approach challenges the conventional wisdom around abstinence. Is total abstinence always the best path for overcoming addiction, or can individuals develop healthier relationships through self-exploration and conscious choice? Zach delves into why abstinence has become an expectation and offers insights on alternative paths to healing. We'll also bring light to our experiences in the vibrant rave scene of the '90s—from the music and dancing to the sense of community and belonging we discovered. In these communities, hoards of misplaced kids felt safe and seen, but there is also healing to be done from those experiences.
