Our body is extremely intelligent, constantly sending us messages and signals, even if we aren't aware of them. Finding ways to listen to your body and these signals can be hard if you've grown up in a culture or society that doesn't teach us how to listen to or even be aware of them. A lot of us have a hard time understanding and holding space for ourselves when strong emotions or bodily sensations arise. This is why I love people like Ben Dorfman. Ben is an author and self proclaimed healer masquerading as an acupuncturist. In todays chat we discuss Ben's book, The Highly Intelligent Body, and his personal healing journey with depression. Many beautiful topics were sparked from Ben's book and through discovering more about his work. A few take aways for me from our conversation revolved around remembering, or re-membering. As we find things that we are excited about in life, are we discovering them for the first time, or are we remembering them from a previous life and rediscovering a hidden passion? And through that process of remembering, are we re-membering ourselves? Putting ourselves, our journey, our spiritual being back together? We also speak to non sexual intimacy and how every person in your life can hold a level of intimacy with you, and you with them, that is completely unique to that human and your relationship with them. If we aren't listening to our bodies, we could be ignoring one of the most important tools in our tool kit. Journey with Ben and I as we discuss your Highly Intelligent Body.
