Music has the ability to move and heal us in beautiful ways. I love having music in my yoga classes, feeling that it adds another layer of depth to the healing practice itself. DJ Taz Rashid has been making music for the healing arts for many years now, helping to crate safe spaces for communities to gather and heal. Today, we'll talk with Taz about his journey to finding this path and how he moved away from his corporate life. For myself, having previously pried myself away from the corporate life, I am encouraged by hearing stories of how others have found their opportunity to do something different and to blaze the trail that makes sense to them. We touch on how noticing and following the synchronicities you find in life can help you find your Dharma to lead you towards your actualization moments as well as DJ Taz's creation & collaboration process. In todays world, we can disconnect and/ or disassociate without knowing we are doing it. We may even use technology to feign the attempt at staying connected, but what leads to the feelings of disconnection? Why does the individual feel they can no longer connect or feel a connection? Today I'm talking with Austin Webber about his journey with this state of being. Austin shares about the injury that lead to his disassociation to his body, which lead to the prescription that lead to his disassociation to self. This is an all too familiar story in the states. But how do you reconnect? We talk about the importance of video games on his journey back as well as body movement. Joseph Campbell's work with the hero's journey and self actualization come up a bit in the talk as well. Connection is fundamental for us as humans, so why are so many of us disconnecting? Is the way society is made up, leading to our disconnection?

Danica back to educate us on the rituals and practices of Ostara, or our Spring Equinox. Coming off of Imbolc in February, the Spring Equinox is the 2nd in the 3 spring festivals, celebrated between March 19th & 23rd. In the Wiccan mythology, the growing daylight is evidence of the God moving from infancy toward maturity. Through our conversation, we talk about ways to honor Ostarta, by planting seeds, meditating and spending time outdoors with friends and nature. We also chat about the importance of the rabbit symbology and how we got to rabbits laying eggs. These conversations shine light on some of the traditions that I've practiced in the past, but had no idea what they meant, or where they seemingly originated from. I'm drawn to older spiritual texts like the Tao, the Bhagavad Gita & the Upanishads, but find myself confused by the metaphors or how they relate to me. This frustration took me on the path to find a guide.  Peter is a philosophy and humanities professor at Southwestern College, who during Covid started a YouTube channel to continue his work. In todays conversation, Peter is helping us understand the more personal messages that these texts hold for the reader and how those meanings can change as we change. Through the conversation, we start to look at the symbology of our generations epic stories like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Roll Playing Video Games etc. and how these stories & story telling modalities may become our generations spiritually allegorical offerings.  This is a beautifully deep talk melding music, surfing, spirituality & life.

Our personal constitution can hold a lot of beautiful answers as to how we best learn, when we're most productive and who we may be the most creative with, but perhaps we haven't been given the correct tools to find out who we truly are. Today I'm talking with best-selling author Tisha Morris about her latest book Missing Element, Hidden Strength. In this book Tisha uses the 5 Taoist elements - water, wood, fire, earth or metal - to help us understand which element we may be leaning more towards at any moment, but more importantly, which element may need more attention and how best to support it. Today we are taking a deep dive into pleasure and relationships. Destiny is a relationship coach and is returning to share her knowledge and journey with tantra and pleasure. Knowledge of self is a phrase that has been in the peripheral of my life for years. I can remember perking up when I heard it in songs or conversations, but never really knew what to do with it. Well, the idea of knowledge of self is very alive in me right now. Mainly in the realization that I had a severe lack of self knowledge, or maybe a misunderstanding of what it really meant. Camo has been on the show multiple times and is an amazing person to share space with on this subject. I loved all aspects of this conversation, but I was very excited about Camo's reframing the word "trigger" into "portal". We may not realize how negative something sounds until we have the opportunity to reframe it. Trust and self esteem come up a bit in this talk, as well as tuning into our subtle energies. Later in the conversation, Camo takes us on a guided meditation as an example of how to listen to your inner knowing. I'm excited to share our exploration of this topic with you all.
