We all have been taught throughout our lives, but maybe not all of us see ourselves as teachers. Teaching is an art form, and if you haven't given yourself time to develop your art, it may seem cumbersome and awkward. Today I'm talking with Teague Parker, founder of Improv for Wellness, about the different philosophies and approaches to teaching that we see on a mass scale. Some of the best teachers that I've had in my life encouraged me to ask questions and if they didn't know the answer, we would find it together. We talk about the difference between didactic and mimetic learning, the public perception of what it means to be a teacher/ educator, ways the school system can be adjusted to adapt to current times and how we can better support our teachers. We love and respect our educators, but we want to emphasize the message that we are all teachers or educators in our own right. We each have a way of conveying information that is unique to us and may help someone grasp a concept that is just out of their reach.
