Depression is the mind in the past. Anxiety is the mind in the future.
In a previous episode, we spoke about being the "underdog" in the job search and we explored the "mindset" as a barrier to unemployment. Today, we spoke to Nader Mowlaee, an immigrant from Iran who struggled with an inability to focus, to conform with the patterns and designs of the groups around him. A previous engineer, turned recruiter turned career coach, Nader knows too well what it's like to deal with a career disruption and how that can impact a job seeker's mental health.
In today's episode, we explore JOB SEARCH DEPRESSION and the feelings that affect individuals with different brain patterns such as OCD and ADD. For decades, potential hires that displayed social eccentricities or mental health disorders were rejected from advancement because they weren't viewed as the right fit for the company culture, or the department culture.
Are companies building enough programs to improve their neurodiverse workforce? How can managers help the employees with special needs?
Through his own personal journey, Nader has picked up a lot of techniques to turn failure into professional success, to navigate the down times with more confidence and not waste time as you hunt for your dream job.

JSEN spoke to MargauxYiu about having a successful career as a multipotentialite within one organization. What does it take? Is it luck or preparation? A “multipotentialite” is someone who displays aptitudes across multiple disciplines or someone who does not see themselves as one job title. Think of David Michael Solomon who is CEO of Goldman Sachs by day and DJ D-Sol by night. His most recent release, "Someone Like You" peaked at #4 on the Billboard Dance Club Chart in November 2020. According to Brene Brown, curiosity is the skill of the future. Multipod people are very curious by nature, they are extremely creative and fearless in their pursuit of continuous learning.
Today’s episode examines how to identify if are a multipotentialite, how to pursue a gratifying career that does not hinder your multiple talents and passions, and what companies and managers can do to support employees who are not “specialists.” Send us your messages and contribute to the conversation. Let’s normalize career transitions.

July 28th and 30th. We are speaking with Ale Giannini, a 3rd generation tango composer and musician from Buenos Aires and the grandson of famed Argentine tango composer Jose Lanzo.
These days Ale finds himself always composing, always whistling a nameless tune while walking around his native city. Those whistles and wanderings have coalesced on Cross A La Mandibula, a sonic novel that takes you with him through modern day Buenos Aires. This ain't his grandfather's tango- it's a compendium of urban pop/tango songs delivered in a transgenerational style, grouped together in a conceptual album that merges the universes of contemporary urban pop with the imagery of Buenos Aires, its literature and its music.
