On tonight's Joe & Joe Weather Show attention shifts to Potential Tropical Cyclone 9 which is moving west northwest at 20 knots and could become a tropical storm tonight or on Wednesday. Tropical Storm Warnings are up for the Leeward and Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. Tropical Storm Watches are up for the Dominican Republic. We take a look at this system and the long range regarding any risks to the East Coast of the US this weekend.

A look at potential tropical cyclone 9 which is close to tropical storm strength. Weather models try to bring this to the Bahamas and near Florida this weekend. The upper air opens up an alley way northward but there are lots of uncertainties here with strength and track.

Mid July summer weather takes hold across the US though there will be a humidity break in parts of the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic States Tuesday and Wednesday. Hurricane Hanna is making landfall this afternoon south of Corpus Christi along the South Texas Coast. We have the latest along with the latest on Hurricane Douglas closing in on the big island of Hawaii and Tropical Storm Gonzalo as it passes over the southern Windward Islands.

Joe & Joe Weather show on another very hot day across much of the Northeast and Middle Atlantic states as highs reached the middle and upper 90s in many places. Some relief has dropped down from Canada and into the Great Lakes but no real relief will arrive until late week though temperatures will ease off these highs of the last 2 days. We will also look at the tropics with 3 weak disturbances being tracked by the National Hurricane Center.
