Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, Steven Spielberg’s 'Jurassic Park' broke box office records, and went on to win all three Academy Awards for which it was nominated, gaining high praise and a huge fanbase following its release in 1993.

The film changed cinema with its fantastic visual effects, allowing audiences to be amazed at the spectacle of believable dinosaurs on screen for the first time. This iconic adventure film still to this day captures audiences imaginations, with fantastic set pieces and moments that define why the film is THE blockbuster that it is.

Insomniacs 'Spider-Man 2' is just over a month away, and since the gameplay trailer, we've had bits and bobs being released promoting the game, including the story trailer which again has only added excitement for its release. So with that, I thought I would discuss further about what I'm looking forward to, and most importantly, who I think Venom could be in the game.

Returning back to the small screen for another 'X Files Collection' episode! This time we tackle 2016's 'Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster', which is easily my favourite episode from the shows revival. With fantastic support from Rhys Darby, Kumail Nanjiani, and penned by show veteran Darin Morgan, the fun and laughs return to the show with a brilliant twist on the 'shapeshifting' trope, whilst Mulder has a crisis of faith.

The latest superhero to hit screens is ‘Blue Beetle’, a character I had NO idea of prior to its announcement and release in general. This origin story doesn’t do anything massively different from any other origin story you may have seen, and it certainly wasn’t the best watch due to its pretty dull plot and awful bad guys – however, the real driving force for this story is family. And the Reyes family are certainly a lot of fun.Full thoughts in this episode.

What better way to come from back from Disneyland than review the latest release from Disney; ‘Haunted Mansion’. With a cracking ensemble, including LaKeith Stanfield, Rosario Dawson, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito and more, the film has a great blend of laughs as well as spooky shenanigans.

That being said, the film does seem a little mature for very young audience members, but not ‘scary’ enough for the older side of the audience- its somewhere in the middle of the spooky spectrum. If anything, the main thing I took away was the brilliant performance from Lakeith Stanfield. His performance was fantastic in a fairly ok script and story.

On the back of the first Meg that dropped in 2018, I was absolutely down for a sequel. As we know, I’m a big fan of the creature feature genre, and 'The Meg' was a silly, but fun trip to the cinema. However, The Meg 2… not so much. The adage 'be careful what you wish for' (I could have punned that to 'be careful what you fish for', but I held off) comes to mind, as my god this film was bad. No fun, no bite, just absolutely stupid, and a real snooze fest at times. Whats more shocking to me is that Ben Wheatley’s name is attached to this as director. Such a talent and yet this film falls so short.

At the Midsummer Scream Festival, ‘Saw’ fans were treated to some very cool updates, and the first full trailer for the 10th instalment of the franchise. ‘Saw’ is still my favourite horror franchise, and though the saga has been a little bumpy in places, I still can't help but get excited for this latest film to see all the twists and turns and of course, some bonkers traps. In this bonus episode, I’ll be discussing what we know so far, the trailer reaction and what I would like to see, and what I don’t want to see, in the upcoming SAW X.
