The 2022 season of FPO disc golf was historic, but course design remains a significant issue. Many events still put FPO players on MPO layouts, leading to long holes and lack of scoring separation. Events like Las Vegas Challenge and European Open had poor course design, with many holes not being birdied and poor scoring stats. Simply changing the par is not a solution to the problem and adding dedicated FPO tee pads or pin placements is the easiest way to address the distance issue.

Valerie Mandujano suffered a grade 3 ankle sprain, a tear of one or more ligaments in the ankle. The most injured ligament is the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL), which connects the fibula to the ankle bone. This type of sprain occurs when the ankle is twisted or turned in an unnatural direction, causing the ligament to stretch or tear. This can happen during activities such as sports, physical fitness, or even walking on uneven surfaces. In Valerie’s case, the injury may have occurred during a throw or a misstep on the course.

Team Clash Discs has Erika Stinchcomb of Two Hot Geese, Mia Miller, Eric Oakley, James Proctor, Scott Withers, Evan Smith, Jacob Courtis, and Gillis MacDougal on the roster. Some decent players that can earn Clash Discs a nice mid-pack finish at the end of the 2023 season.

What do you guys think? Did I miss anything?

Deanne Carey is leaving Innova. More and more people are leaving the manufacturer. Could this mean a big payday for a few individuals? Only time will tell.

Innova announced the qualifying tournaments for USDGC 2023. The were gracious enough to include DGPT events sponsored by other companies!

Natalie Ryan again took to Instagram to vent frustration in a less than constructive manner. She decided that it would be in her best interest to attack the FPO division and alienate those fans on the fence in the same post.  It'll be interesting to see where this saga goes especially if a lawsuit is announced.

Drew Gibson never seems to disappoint when he tweet, especially when it comes to disc golf. This time he decided to tweet his thoughts on disc golfers using GoFundMe. It sparked an interesting discussion to say the least.

So some changes coming out for the channel. I will now be uploading smaller more frequent videos and combining them at the end of the week to make the audio podcast.

Lost in the chaos of the PDGA gender-eligibility policy announcement was the news that both Anthony Barela and Paige Shue are leaving Innova Discs and Dynamic Discs respectively. Where will they go?

After months of waiting and hours of debate, the PDGA Board of Directors has ratified the gender-eligibility policy for the 2023 season forward. In 2023 transgender women will not be allowed to participate in the FPO division at Pro Majors. At the same time, the Disc Golf Pro Tour said it is adopting the PDGA guidelines for Elite and Silver events for the 2023 season.   The policy change is in part a result of the International Olympic Committee guidance that requires individual sports associations determine their own guidelines for transgender participation in their sport. Each sport has created different rules based on the athletic requirements of the activity.

Natalie Ryan has started a legal fund, “to fight the anti-trans PDGA Policy.” In a comment Ryan said that all funds, “will be used for legal fees exclusively.” At the time of writing the fund had raised $4,178.   This change takes effect January 1, 2023.
