In John 15, Jesus describes Himself as the true vine and His disciples as branches, calling them to remain in Him for life and fruitfulness. He emphasizes that apart from Him, they can do nothing, but in abiding they will bear much fruit and glorify the Father. This passage also highlights love as the defining mark of discipleship—just as the Father loved Jesus, so Jesus loves His followers, and they are to love one another in the same way.
