Welcome to episode 13 of Pro Wrestling Spotlight Rewind - where we look back at classic shows from the archives of John Arezzi, going back to the very early days of pro wrestling talk on the radio. On this episode - we will review show #13 show which aired on 1440 WNYG in Babylon, NY on July 2nd, 1989.
The review of this show brought a lot of comparisons to what PWS eventually became - which was a true insiders radio program. But that was not the case in July 1989. From Broadway Sonny Blaze and John discussing the "new" East Coast Wrestling (ECW) organization that was starting up on Long Island and wrestlers being contacted by them (the promotion never got off the ground), to the worked interviews with Indy women wrestlers, to John promoting next week's exclusive interview with Terry Funk - the whole show was one big work! Listen for the first reference ever of the "Great American Nightmare" when 1989 John discusses Dusty Rhodes and his vignettes in the WWF.

Welcome to episode 12 of Pro Wrestling Spotlight Rewind - where we look back at classic shows from the archives of John Arezzi, going back to the very early days of pro wrestling talk on the radio. On this episode - we will review show #12 show which aired on 1440 WNYG in Babylon, NY on June 25th, 1989.
Marsh and I review the show that featured many interviews from NWA stars including Teddy Long with Norman the Lunatic, Paul E. Dangerously and Jim Cornette in a hilarious backstage encounter, and more. We also discuss the first bus trip to the NWA show in New Haven Connecticut and play bus banter with Bruce Jacobs, the listeners and even John's sister!
On a serious note - with the recent lawsuit filed against Vince and Linda McMahon, the WWE and TKO by 5 ring boys this past week - John for the first time goes back in time to give his history with Mel Phillips, who he first met in June, 1974.

Welcome to episode 11 of Pro Wrestling Spotlight Rewind - where we look back at classic shows from the archives of John Arezzi, going back to the very early days of pro wrestling talk on the radio. On this episode - we will review show #10 show which aired on 1440 WNYG in Babylon, NY on June 11th, 1989. Marsh and I review the show that featured Paul E. Dangerously who called in on that show. Larry from L&S Comix calls in to reviewing the universally panned Nassau Coliseum house show - where Big John Studd no-showed the main event. Vinny from West Babylon calls in for one of his first ever appearances. Broadway Sonny Blaze is in studio as well.

Here is a historic original broadcast of the Pro Wrestling Spotlight, which aired on July 21st, 1991 on 1240 AM - WGBB. On this explosive show, I cover the Vince McMahon press conference held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on July 16th, 1991 to discuss his steroid use and plans to implement a steroid testing policy for the WWF. It's the event I had to use an assumed name to access, and I confront McMahon and PR rep Steve Planamenta. Alex Marvez from the Miami Herald joins us as well!

Welcome to episode 7 of Pro Wrestling Spotlight Rewind - where we look back at classic shows from the archives of John Arezzi, going back to the very early days of pro wrestling talk on the radio. On this episode - we will review show #5 show which aired on 1440 WNYG in Babylon, NY on May 14th, 1989.
We review the radio show from 35 years ago that featured The Power Twins who are back again in-studio, this time taunting Indy wrestlers Bialo The Giant and Crazy Don Rock who they will be wrestling in an upcoming battle royal promoted by the youngest promoter in wrestling at that time, Mitch Seinfeld. Paul E. Dangerously and Kevin Sullivan are also interview guests on that show.
Mitch is the special guest on this show, and joins Marsh and John, telling his stories about that time, his life in wrestling with AFA and SIKA, Ted Petty, and shares his memories of Kevin Sullivan.
