DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. —

Douglas County prosecutors have charged a Ralston man with the sexual assault of a minor.

Investigators say 27-year-old John Channels forced a child to perform sex acts on him when the victim was 12- to 13-years-old.

Investigators say up until 2021, Channels encouraged the child to send him explicit photos.

The affidavit claims investigators found "provocative" pictures of the victim on Channel's iPad.

Prosecutors also charged him with sexually explicit conduct.

Douglas County officials confirm that he worked at Offutt Air Force Base as a civilian in the security police force.

Channels is in jail on a $100,000 bond and is expected back in court in July.
