John Mark Jedlicka was born on April 22, 1970, to John Emil and Elizabeth (Janousek) in Schuyler, Nebraska. He grew up in Schuyler and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1988.
John was united in marriage to Lynnette (Zywiec) in 2000, and had one daughter, Jenna, born to this union. They later separated. In 2022, he was united in marriage to Becky Svoboda. Through this marriage, John gained a stepson, Shane.
John was a farmer for several years and later owned J & B Event Drapes, providing drapes and curtains for many events throughout the area. He was also a familiar and friendly face as a bartender at Tiny’s Bar in Schuyler, where he worked for over 30 years.
John had a deep love for antiques and collectibles, proudly collecting just about anything that caught his interest. A true people person, he had the gift of gab and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He adored his black labs and had a soft spot for cats—even though he insisted he didn’t like them.
John is survived by his wife, Becky Jedlicka; daughter, Jenna Jedlicka; stepson, Shane (Vanessa) Svoboda; granddaughter, Sharon Svoboda; brother, Glen (Shannon) Jedlicka; sister, Laura (Doug) Eisenmann; mother, Elizabeth Brichacek; mother in law Sharon Viergutz, uncle Dean Janousek, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Emil Jedlicka, father-in-law, Robert Viergutz, aunt Penny Janousek.
