The US Government have been in Afghanistan since 2002/2003. After 911 The US Government was supposed to go there to assess, maintain the peace and leave. They end up staying in Afghanistan for over 15 years and spending over a Trillion dollars. They used money to trained the military and build infrastructure in Afghanistan.
