This is a new version. The first version had no drum or bass and sounded very classical - as in Beethoven and Mozart, not the Stones - with lots of oboe and flute.

This version still features the flute and definitely has drums and bass - it's as close as I get to a "power ballad". The old oboe lick is now played on my 12-string; and it still has that classical feel to it.

I guess I was just in a down mood.

This is a REMIX of 'Dance with Me'.

Back in 2012 and 2013, I was playing a lot of 'open mic' nights and in one particular venue, one of the bartenders and I hit it off and so I decided I'd write something for her without going overboard. I mean, there was nothing romantic about our relationship - we just liked talking to each other - hence the Verse line:

"Got no delusions, got no wild dreams; there's nothing more here than it seems."

So I wrote what turned out to be the Verses of this song. Problem: I had no Chorus. Then one day, three or four years later, I'm screwing around on my piano and BOOM!! I started playing what would become the Chorus of this song. I thought the two parts might fit together so I tried it out. I had to rewrite some of the Verses a little to make the song make more sense, but I think it turned out okay.
