John & Tammy: San Diego's Morning Show

We had the most amazing weekend rolling around downtown San Diego for the Morgan Wallen shows, but the best part was getting to know some up-and-coming country stars. On Friday we had Frank Ray performing on top of the Wonderbus and he killed it! Afterwards he chatted to us about the performance and bringing Hispanic representation to country music.

Saturday we had a blast running around downtown San Diego with Drake Milligan. After he killed it on the Wonderbus and showed us why he was picked to play Elvis on TV, he talked to us about his career and what he's hoping for in the future.

Are you ready for a once in a lifetime show, totally intimate, totally unplugged and totally badass? This morning we announced that we are bringing Brantley Gilbert to San Diego to play The Sound at the Del Mar Fairgrounds along with Josh Ross.

While Jay-Z was attending his wife's concert he randomly gave his full champagne glass to a stranger...who was psyched to say the least.  Who is Jay Z's wife?

Halle Bailey's boyfriend DDG releases a new song, "Famous," about how "insecure" he is when she kisses other men in acting roles, including the movie she just starred in....The live action Disney remake  that she played Ariel in.  What is it?

If I show you my new tattoo and you say "Oh, that's actually good"... that's all I need to know about you!

The big Morgan Wallen shows this weekend here in San Diego also features some amazing opening acts including Ernest, Hardy and Bailey Zimmerman! Last time we saw Bailey was at Stagecoach in April. In this previously unaired audio he talks to us about going on social media and apologizing to fans after a not-so-stellar show.

In honor of Morgan Wallen in town this weekend and his legendary mullet, we wanted to remind everyone of all the other country artists that have rocket the mullet through the years. This morning Tammy played some hits with one question - did they have a mullet when the song came out?

For the last couple weeks KSON Loyal Listeners have been texting in code words to try and win pit passes to see Morgan Wallen this weekend at Petco Park. This morning we called one lucky winner to tell them the good news!

We had a very special guest in the studio this morning, Pre Teen Miss San Diego County Kensington! She joined us to talk a little about her favorite part of pageant life and grace us with a performance of the National Anthem.
