John & Tammy: San Diego's Morning Show

Local resident Mike Harris is the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off your back if you needed it. A few years back he started a Harley ride to collect toys for the local Toys 4 Tots program. Since then it has grown to this amazing event that helped collect over 3,500 toys and raise over $42,000 last year alone. They are back this Sunday at the Del Mar Racetrack collecting new, unwrapped toys to help give to local kids in need this holiday season. If you bring a toy, the Del Mar Racetrack will also give you free admission. We talked to Mike this morning about the event and how much this event has grown over the years. 

Our final Swiftie qualified for the Taylor Swift tickets was not nominated by just one of his besties but TEN!!! Our favorite comment was "He would die for her I swear to God." We talked to Connor this morning to give him the good news!

Today was our final Food Fund of 2022 in Lakeside and as always East County showed up to represent! Not only did you fill every single barrel we had with food for the San Diego Food Bank, but we got to surprise CEO Casey Castillo with a check from one of our loyal listeners to help feed hungry San Diegans this year!  

Zac Brown Band is back in San Diego TONIGHT headlining the Wonderfront Festival downtown. This morning, we got a chance to catch up with drummer Chris Fryar to talk about the show tonight, his favorite drum moments in music and their incredible performance at the CMAs. 

Taylor Swift broke the internet...or at least Ticketmaster this week after millions tried to buy tickets to her concert.  Taylor's first big hit was named after THIS massively successful country singer.  Who?

Hannah Montana is going to have a step mother!  Billy Ray Cyrus is engaged to his girlfriend, 34 year old Australian singer Firerrose.  Who is Billy Ray's daughter that played Hannah? 

The thing we love the most about east county is how they show up for their own when they are needed. Right now, the Cobb family needs your help for their 14-year-old daughter Macie. She was diagnosed with brain cancer and needs radiation to combat it, but insurance won't pay. Eastbound Bar & Grill in Lakeside has stepped up and is holding a fundraiser to help the family this Monday (11/21). 

All week we are asking you to nominate your best Swiftie friend to win Taylor Swift tickets. This morning we talked to Kelley who nominated Mackenzie who is not only her best friend, but also her daughter. She says that Taylor got Mackenzie through some hard times and she really deserves the tickets. 

We're still not entirely sure if this came from a humane or a dog but if you don't feed your pet before you sit down to eat your dinner... that's all I need to know about you!
