How does addiction take hold of someone's life?
In this second episode of the Faces of Addiction series, I share my personal journey into alcoholism and addiction—not as a "drunkalog," but as a reflection on how addiction gradually narrowed my world, distorted my judgment, and consumed my life.
Growing up in an alcoholic family, I unknowingly became part of a multi-generational pattern. What began as experimentation in my early teens slowly progressed into homelessness, legal problems, failed ambitions, and a life focused solely on survival.
Now, after 37 years of sobriety, I look back with gratitude and ask an important question:
How do you help someone who cannot see?
Using the Tarot and Elder Futhark Runes, we explore this difficult question and discuss:
Why addiction narrows a person's perspective. Why logic alone rarely changes an addicted mind. The role of pain, responsibility, and personal choice.Bringing light into darkness through hope, guidance, and recovery. Why recovery is possible, no matter how hopeless life may seem. This episode is intended for anyone struggling with addiction, family members searching for answers, or those interested in recovery, psychology, spirituality, and personal transformation.
If you have questions about recovery, Tarot, Jungian psychology, the I Ching, Runes, or any of the topics discussed on this channel, I'd love to hear from you.
