Welcome to a brand new series "Growing up Black & Brown". A series all about relatable topics on growing up with a black or brown ethnic background, where issues like identity, health or lifestyle can be discussed. For the first ever episode, we talked about "Flying to the Motherland". Biryani (aka Irfan) interviews Jollof (aka Jerome), who describes his recent trip to Ghana, his home country! The trip marked the first time he has ever flown out and his first time visiting Ghana. Jollof described the different cultural practices he learned whilst there, and his initial experiences after arriving. Throughout his stay, he visited various beautiful regions including the Volta region, the capital city of Accra, met locals and explored his ancestral roots. Finally, Jollof & Biryani discuss the importance of flying to the motherland and staying in touch with one's roots.
