  • Sol Orwell on Being Relentless and Not Giving Up

My guest today has built companies in several different industries and has been successful enough to hand the companies over to someone else to manage and run.

He had more or less retired when he co-founded Examine.com, an independent and unbiased evidence-based organization that investigates the science behind supplementation and nutrition.

My guest is trying to make a difference in this industry and with over one million people visiting the site every month he appears to be making that difference.

My guest is also fitness adviser at Schwarzenegger.com and, in 2014, he was recognized as a Game Changer by Men's Fitness.

    Now, let's hack...

          • Here’s the Key to Turning Your Failures into Opportunities

My guest today has a passion for assisting small business owners and entrepreneurs in starting and protecting their businesses.

Along side her husband, she pioneered the business filings industry with MyCorporation.com in 1997, whilst they were both at law school. A Fortune 500 company acquired MyCorporation.com in 2005, which allowed her to retire at the young age of 30.

She hated being retired and soon grew restless, so she and Phil founded Corpnet.com. Corpnet prepares and files the documents necessary to start a new business in any state or county in the U.S., and sends alerts to up-and-running businesses when annual reports and other business filings are due.

My guest's companies combined have helped more than 100,000 corporations and LLCs get started.

My guest today is a dad, husband, drummer and entrepreneur, who builds awesome stuff online and helps people with their lives and businesses.

He spent his early years travelling around Canada whilst playing in punk-rock bands, which taught him the D.I.Y. work ethic of ‘if you want something to change you have to do it; get it done or stop complaining about it’. This is a work ethic that he still swears by.

He is the host of Hack The Entrepreneur and co-host of The Showrunner podcast and Podcasting Course..

                  • Julien Smith and The Ability To Destroy Anything (Rebroadcast)

Almost 4 years ago I read a truly inspiring book called The Flinch.  The premise of this great book is to overcome the flinch or fears that we all have every day, in order to live a more free and fulfilling life.

The part that really stuck with me was on cold showers and taking them to overcome the basic flinch to ice cold water.  There has rarely been a day that I have stepped into a shower and not thought of this challenge -- but I had yet to step up to the 30 day challenge presented in the book.

This past March, my family and I went to the Philippines for a work vacation.  The country and people are some of the most beautiful I have seen anywhere, and most of the hotels had hot water.  Hotels are fun, but sometimes you need to adventure a little further. We decided to spend three weeks on a more remote island and stay in a more rustic style lodging. Here we had NO hot water, none at all, not a drop.  This was quite off-putting at first, but then it brought me back to The Flinch and its cold shower challenge.
Three weeks with no hot water, showering at least once per day and I am now 100% over my fear towards cold water.

Julien Smith is the author of the Flinch (free download included below) and I am very excited to have him as a guest on the show.

Julien is the CEO of Breather, a New York Times Bestselling author, and a world-renowned speaker.

                    Let's get into it.

Here's what the podcast is about:
                    • Julien walks us through how to be wrong.
                    • It is your responsibility to delegate everything that you shouldn't be doing.
                    • You have a choice whether your idea lives or dies (and how to make the right choice).
                    • Make something happen at the highest leverage point possible.
