Blind vs blind battles are often the most interesting spots in poker cash games as nobody ever wants to give up on the pot! Can Brad Owen crack pocket aces? Well in this hand he does as the popular poker vlogger manages to spike his combo draw on the river against an opponent in the small blind, who happens to hold pocket aces. Brad fires out an overbet, but will this bet prove to be too greedy, or will his opponent be unable to fold the best starting hand in poker?

On low connected flops that favor your range more than your opponents, it’s often a good situation to start betting with your lower flush and straight draws. By doing so, you can fold out many hands that are currently ahead of you. A draw that includes ace high is usually better to check behind since you already have some showdown value. However, with hands like eight-high, nine-high, or ten-high draws, you’re unlikely to be ahead, so betting allows you to apply pressure and potentially get opponents to fold their unpaired overcards.

When choosing your bet sizing, it’s generally best to lean toward a larger bet, closer to pot size. This polarized sizing represents either very strong made hands, such as straights and sets, or high equity draws. Using this strategy makes your betting range tougher to play against and maximizes fold equity while still building the pot when you hit your draws.

Tom Dwan became a legend during his online poker days on Full Tilt Poker, his fearless and aggressive style was on full display against the best in the world at the highest stakes. When playing poker, whether in cash games or tournaments, it is crucial to be constantly aware of your table image. If you have shown down several bluffs or revealed speculative holdings during the current session or in previous ones, some opponents will take note. When your opponent double barrels on a turn card that is better for their range than it is for yours, it is often the moment in the poker hand when you must fold your marginal holdings. When playing in a high stakes poker cash game for thousands of dollars, people would expect the atmosphere at the poker table to be very serious. Feldman perhaps thinks Peter has an ace as he puts out an overbet of $19,000. Peter raises to $59,000 and Feldman is put in the blender on whether to call or fold. Turn – 8s:
The turn brings in two possible straights, which causes Brad to slow down and check with his jacks and tens for two pair. Brad’s opponent leans on the side of caution and checks behind with his two ladies that have now picked up a backdoor gutshot straight draw.

River – Ac:
The A of clubs on the river brings in the broadway straight, but it means that the front door flush draw has bricked out. Brad knows his two pair may no longer be the best hand, so he checks for the last time. The under the gun player realizes that his two queens are unlikely to be good after the action on the flop. He decides to turn his hand into a bluff since he blocks both straights by holding two of the queens from the deck. He applies maximum pressure on Brad by putting him all in for $15,325, a bet that is almost three times the size of the pot! Will the OG poker vlogger be able to decipher this huge bluff and make a fantastic hero call, or will Brad lay down the winning hand and forfeit the pot to his opponent?
