Joomcast

Welcome to the last episode of JoomCast season #1. Today we speak with Hans van der Meer. Hans has been volunteering with Joomla since the beginning of Joomla and has been an active contributor to the Joomla project. Speaking to Hans was a unique experience since he doesn’t develop websites or extensions for Joomla but still volunteers his time and that is something different between himself and the rest of our guests.

Hans Thanks Alison Meeks for her contribution to the Joomla project.

With that, we say Farewell for the time being from JoomCast. It has been a very smooth ride meeting all the amazing people from the Joomla Community and we’ll be back with a much more exciting Season soon very soon!

Hans is also a certified Joomla administrator. You can know more about him here.

Hello Joomla Fans,

Its JoomCast Ep. 019. And today we have a very special guest from the Joomla Community.

Let's welcome George Wilson.  He started his Joomla journey by developing some Joomla extensions with a friend to learn the code. Later he started contributing to core and then he joined PLT and become the release lead - initially for J3 and now he is the release lead for Joomla 4

We spoke to George about a bunch of things. Specifically, what’s up with Joomla 4 and when it’s the Joomla 4 release is going to see the light of day!

George also talks about how things could be planned and prepared with crystal clear expectations from the very beginning to get everything done in time.

Here we are with JoomCast #16. We bring you Luca Marzo, Secretary at Open Source Matters. Apart from discussing Tim’s colonoscopy and Luca’s Joomla story, we look at the Joomla’s election process and how yearly elections are better (or worse) for the elected officials.

We also talk about how to manage your hours when you are volunteering for a position and how Luca’s employer (host.it) is very supportive of his volunteering work.

We also look at Joomla’s future and expectations from Joomla 4! and how Joomla 4! could (have been) released faster!

This episode of JoomCast is sponsored by the CMS Release Team (in the Podcast Chetan accidentally said Testing team but it’s really the CMS Release Team),  you can apply as a volunteer for the CMS release team at https://volunteers.joomla.org/teams/cms-release-team
