Then they took him and cast him into a pit. And the pit was empty; there was no water in it.
Genesis 37:24
And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt."
Genesis 41:39-41
Of all the great heroes of the Old Testament, no one comes closer to foreshadowing the life of Christ than Joseph the son of Jacob; His journey from the pit (Genesis 37) to the palace (Genesis 41) prefigures Christ’s triumphant transition from the Cross to the Crown. Might it not also represent the destiny of those who believe in the Lord?
