Tony, Emmy, and Grammy-nominated artist Josh Groban is releasing his newest album, 'Gems.' 

The 18-track album is a hand-picked collection of his favourite songs with two new additions, “Be Alright” and “Open Hands."

Mr Groban told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, "You record a bunch of songs and you just have absolutely no idea what word or series of words will describe the year you've been through."

"We just kind of thought, you know, as we were talking about it, you know what? What is it we want to call these, kind of gems of your career?"

"You always want to put in a couple of things that,  haven't heard before. These are songs that I wrote over the last couple of years. So, I hope they [fans] enjoy them," Mr Groban continued.
